Multiple Players Absent From Practice as Penguins Lines Emerge

This season hasn't gone the way anyone in Pittsburgh would have hoped, and now, with just one game remaining on their regular season schedule, many fans have already begun looking towards the draft and 2025 free agency.

That will give the front office many chances to improve this intriguing team, but before then, they have one final showdown with the Washington Capitals on their schedule.

Ahead of that game, the team have seen several players sitting out of practice, with both Kevin Hayes and Kris Letang reportedly not taking the ice on Tuesday with the team.

That comes after Seth Rorabaugh revealed that Pierre-Olivier Joseph was a full participant at practice without a non-contact jersey, as he could return for the finale after an extended absence.

As a result of these two developments, we see some very different looking lines for Pittsburgh ahead of their season finale, and while the top two lines look similar to what we've seen as of late, those absences have certainly caused some changes.

This type of lineup definitely isn't what Pittsburgh fans have become accustomed too in recent years, but with injuries and plenty of trades, this is what they've looked like for much of 2024/25.

With their last game not until Thursday, the expectation is that both Letang and Hayes will be back in the lineup for Game 82, and with the off-season looming, things may look very different when the team next take the ice after Thursday.
