Sidney Crosby shocked a young NHL player with a visit yesterday ahead of the Penguins game versus the Blues.

The St. Louis Blues have been the hottest team in the NHL in the final stretch of the season.
Their hot streak continued yesterday when they took down the Pittsburgh Penguins by a final score of 5-4 in overtime.
The win marked their 11th in a row going back to March 15th. Ironically, the Penguins were the last team to defeat the Blues all the way back on March 13th in a 5-3 game.
Notably, Penguins captain and hockey legend Sidney Crosby visited his friend and Blues captain Brayden Schenn ahead of yesterday's game.
As a result, he also met Blues prospect Jimmy Snuggerud, who is staying with Schenn after signing his entry-level contract with the team just a few days ago.
Like most players of his generation, Snuggerud grew up idolizing Crosby as he pursued his dreams of playing in the NHL.
The Atheltic's Jeremy Rutherford even revealed that Snuggerud had Crosby merchandise growing up as a kid.
Of course, Crosby has served as a mentor to the Penguins' top prospects in addition to being an inspiration to an entire generation of pros.
Snuggerud was a 1st round pick, 23rd overall in the 2022 draft and has since developed very nicely.
In three seasons with the University of Minnesota, he put up 135 points including 66 goals in just 119 games.
Blues head coach Jim Montgomery has been highly complimentary of him so far after two games of NHL experience, saying he looks like an NHL player.
"He's a hockey player. He's making plays and he's competing. As long as that maintains and stays up ... I say cautiously because this is the NHL and to be an everyday player in the NHL is not easy. You see it a lot with young players."

He even picked up his first career point with an assist during the game against Crosby and the Penguins last night.
Perhaps Snuggerud and Crosby will meet again next season if the young winger can maintain his spot in the Blues lineup.
