Fans have been waiting for the Penguins to make big moves all off-season long, and now the latest trade proposal would see them move Tristan Jarry to Edmonton.

The Pittsburgh Penguins were expected to be busy this summer, but thus far things have been quiet, although it's not for a lack of trying from General Manager Kyle Dubas.
According to reports, Dubas has been trying to gauge interest in starting goaltender Tristan Jarry, but as of right now it seems that there isn't much interest in him league wide at his current price, which is holding back the possibility of a deal getting done.
However, if the Penguins were to retain money on the talented starter, there are plenty of teams around the league that could be looking to acquire a goaltender of his caliber.

Edmonton land Tristan Jarry in intriguing mock trade with the Penguins

One team that have constantly been linked to Jarry this off-season are the Edmonton Oilers, and in this latest trade proposal from a user on X, they would do so in a trade that benefits both teams.
Penguins receive: Mattias Janmark, David Tomasek

Oilers receive: Tristan Jarry (50% retained)
On paper, this deal works for both teams, as the Oilers get a potential No. 1 that can get hot in the post-season if Stuart Skinner struggles, while the Oilers get a moveable veteran for the deadline and an intriguing piece in 29-year old David Tomasek.
Tomasek represented Czechia last year at the 2024 IIHF World Championship and won a gold medal in his first ever appearance with the national team. He joined the Oilers on a one-year deal that sees him land in Edmonton for the 2025-26 season.
As we know from various insiders this off-season, Kyle Dubas has been standing firm on his prices and won't give a player away for nothing, so we'll see if this offer could be enough or if he'd be interested in retaining money on Jarry, but with the team rebuilding, getting anything back for him now would be a good deal.
