The Pittsburgh Penguins picked up journeyman defenseman Caleb Jones on the opening day of free agency, who is the brother of Florida Panthers defenseman Seth Jones, a recent Stanley Cup winner.

The Pittsburgh Penguins brought in a number of low-profile players over the summer in the midst of trying to trade players like Bryan Rust, Rickard Rakell and Erik Karlsson.
Among the players Kyle Dubas signed was defenseman Caleb Jones, who has played for multiple teams in his NHL career.
The brother of Florida Panthers Stanley Cup-winning defenseman Seth Jones, Caleb had his 1st media session since joining the team and explained he's happy for the opportunity in Pittsburgh.
"Obviously this summer I got the call from my agent and they said they (Pittsburgh) had interest in me and had been talking for a bit. I just felt the opportunity to go to Pittsburgh and become a regular guy every night and really fully establish was too good to pass up....I felt good about the opportunity I was gonna have, and that's how the decision was made to sign in Pittsburgh."
He has 55 points (14G, 41A) in 248 career NHL games.

Caleb Jones is a journeyman defenseman

Unlike his brother Seth, Caleb Jones has found it somewhat difficult to find his footing in the NHL.
He has played parts of 7 years in the NHL after being taken with the 117th overall pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft by the Edmonton Oilers.
But he would be traded to the Chicago Blackhawks as part of the package to acquire veteran Stanley Cup winning defenseman Duncan Keith in 2021. He later signed with the Carolina Hurricanes but was traded to the Colorado Avalanche before ever playing a single game with the team.
After playing a year with the Avalanche organization, he signed with the Los Angeles Kings last year.
He is now signed for 2 years with the Penguins and has an AAV (average annual value) of $900,000.
