The Pittsburgh Penguins have gotten an encouraging update on the health of defenseman Kris Letang ahead of their 3-game western road trip that starts on Tuesday.
The Pittsburgh Penguins are getting ready for a challenging 3 game western road trip that will take them to Los Angeles, Anaheim and San Jose.
But before the road trip begins, they've gotten some encouraging news on defenseman Kris Letang.
Per Penguins analyst Josh Getzoff, Letang is skating with the rest of his teammates in practice.

The Kings will play the Anaheim Ducks at Honda Center on Tuesday night.
Kris Letang was hurt against the New York Rangers
Letang was hurt during the Penguins' 6-1 loss to the New York Rangers and former head coach Mike Sullivan over the weekend.
He played a single shift during the 3rd period and didn't come back for the rest of the game, and there was doubt on whether or not he'd be able to join the rest of the team for their western road trip.
He's also experienced numerous health issues in recent years, including 2 separate strokes while also having to undergo heart surgery. Letang's career is clearly on the downswing, but he still plays a valuable role in Pittsburgh's defensive corps.
Including this one, he still has 3 years left on his current contract with an AAV (average annual value) of $6.1 million.
