Perfect Fit for the Penguins as Rising Trade Target Drawing Major Interest
Bowen Byram has been a hot name on the trade market, and now it appears as though his name is heating up as the Penguins continue to be linked to him.
The Stanley Cup Finals are upon us, and while two of the best teams in the NHL do battle to be this years Champion, 30 other teams and their fanbases are busy plotting to see what their off-season may look like.
One of those teams is the Pittsburgh Penguins, who had another disappointing campaign in 2024/25, and with the team looking to potentially get younger, they've been linked to many intriguing names this summer.
Lately, it's been all about young centre
Marco Rossi, but the links to Buffalo Sabres defenseman Bowen Byram continue, with the talented blue liner reportedly a 'very hot name' on the trade market right now according to Elliotte Friedman.
The 23-year old has already been traded once in his NHL career in a blockbuster deal involving the Colorado Avalanche, and with a major extension looming for the talented former first-round pick, teams are looking to land him and lock him in for a long time to come.
Given that the Penguins could be looking to reload for the future, both Rossi and Byram are the perfect age level targets for GM Kyle Dubas, and with the team continuing to be linked too him, don't be shocked if they're one of the teams that continue to contact Sabres GM Kevyn Adams.
Whether or not the Penguins land him, it appears that Byram is going to be on the move once again this summer, and if Kyle Dubas is intent on landing young, NHL ready players to add to this roster, it's safe to say that this is the absolute perfect target for them moving forward, with the team set to be in the running for him.
