K'Andre Miller is a red-hot name on the trade market in the NHL right now, and he's firming as the perfect target for Kyle Dubas and the Penguins.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have a few things to accomplish this off-season, but perhaps the most important is the goal of getting younger with talented, young, NHL ready players to build around for the future.
That goal will only be accomplished on the trade market, and with Pittsburgh's reported connections to both
Bowen Byram and
Marco Rossi, there are plenty of options out there for them.
Perhaps the most intriguing of all is young New York Rangers defenseman K'Andre Miller, who couldn't find his footing in recent years, and with the team potentially set to move on from
Erik Karlsson on the left side of their defense, Miller could be the perfect replacement.
According to Cam Robinson of Elite Prospects, Miller's name has been hot on the lips of everyone at the NHL's Draft Combine, with the belief being that the 25-year old will be on the move in the very near future as the Rangers too look for a shakeup of their roster.
While the Rangers may not want Karlsson in a deal for Miller, the Penguins are likely to move him separately, and given that new Head Coach Mike Sullivan was with this roster in Pittsburgh, he knows there are definitely pieces on the Penguins that could help them moving forward.
Ultimately, there are many pieces the Penguins could trade for this summer, but very few would be cheaper and more age appropriate for where this team is headed than K'Ande Miller, and if they can give him a bigger role and get the best out of him, this could be an amazing deal for Pittsburgh.
