Samuel Poulin Makes Bold Statement Years After Being Selected by Penguins in the First Round

Penguins prospect Samuel Poulin is one of many players hoping that Pittsburgh will keep them around for the start of the new season.
The Pittsburgh Penguins took forward Samuel Poulin with the 21st overall pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft while he was playing for the Sherbrooke Phoenix of the QMJHL.
So far, he's spent the majority of his professional career with the AHL's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, but he's played in a total of 13 games in a Penguins sweater, including 7 last year.
He's hoping that he'll be included on Pittsburgh's roster for their 1st game of the regular season, which is October 7 against former head coach Mike Sullivan and the New York Rangers.
I felt like I had a really strong season. I was confident the whole year and put some good stuff out there. Also, I played some strong games when I was up here in Pittsburgh. Overall, I was really happy about the way things went.

The Penguins have a new coaching staff, which includes head coach Dan Muse and assistant Nick Bonino. Poulin knows he must make a good impression on them to be included on the roster.
Those coaches don't really know me as a player. I do whatever it takes every day to bring the best effort I can bring and to show some good things on the ice.
