Sidney Crosby Caught on Leaked Audio Calling Out Referee at IIHF Worlds

Team Canada came into their final group stage matchup of the 2025 IIHF World Championship with Team Sweden looking to hand them their first loss, and with their current play, it appears they'll head into the medal stages with a record of 6-1.

Their matchup with Team Sweden didn't come without drama however, as the team were called for a very questionable cross-check, and later on in the game, the very same call on Sweden was ignored by the officials.

Being the captain he is, Sidney Crosby couldn't let that one go, as a video from the perspective of the officials has now been revealed, showing Crosby calling him out for the biased calls that the official had made throughout the game.

Some captains in the league would speak much, much worse to the officials, so while Crosby didn't take it that far, he was certainly firm in his criticism of the officials, making it clear that calling something on Nathan MacKinnon but not on the Swedish player as well was not the right way to go about things.

At the end of the day however, Crosby got the last laugh, as it's Canada to come away victorious in their biggest and toughest head-to-head matchup of the tournament with Sweden, and with both teams heading into the medal round with a 6-1 record, it's safe to say that if Canada can come away with the gold medal, it's going to be very well earned.
