While Penguins captain and Canada icon remains forever an international legend, he won't be able to make an appearance at the 2025 Memorial Cup.

Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has accomplished just about everything there is to do as a professional hockey player, both in the NHL and on the international stage.
Crosby, who scored the "Golden Goal" in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver to claim gold for Canada, won't be able to make an appearance at an ongoing international tournament.
Via Kevin Dubé of TVA Sports, Crosby will not be present for the Memorial Cup.
Sidney Crosby will not be making a stop in Rimouski during the Memorial Cup tournament, despite efforts by the organization to attract him before the end of the competition.

Number 87's agent, Pat Brisson, confirmed to the Journal on Monday morning that Crosby would not be traveling to Bas-Saint-Laurent.
The Memorial Cup runs through June 1 at the Colisée Financière Sun Life in Rimouski, Quebec, Canada.
Crosby recently represented Canada at the 2025 IIHF World Championships overseas, which came to a shocking end with a loss to Denmark; he had 12 points in 8 games.
The only way he could describe the setback "disappointment".
Disappointed. I mean, we got better as the tournament went on. I don't think tonight was necessarily our best but we still found a way to give ourselves the lead. Trying to play a road game with the lead, I liked where we were at but disappointing. We had a great group here.

As far as what Denmark accomplished, Crosby complimented the for how they managed to play a neutralizing style of play.
They did a good job of keeping us to the outside. We had a few bounces, pucks lying there that we couldn't get sticks on. We've gotta find a way if we want to win games like this one here.

Crosby signed a 2-year extension with his traditional AAV (average annual value) of $8.7 million before last season; he's under contract with Pittsburgh through 2027.
