Tristan Jarry struggled for much of the 2024/25 season in Pittsburgh, and with a few young names coming through the organization, he's clearly feeling the heat.

The 2024/25 season fell flat for the Pittsburgh Penguins, and early in the season it was the struggles of goaltender Tristan Jarry that defined the team, as the veteran was waived and sent to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in shocking scenes.
While he returned and played better down the stretch, there are still question marks over his future with the team, despite having another three years remaining on his current contract following the 2024/25 campaign.
What makes those questions even tougher for Jarry is the emergence of both Joel Blomqvist and Sergei Murashov in the AHL, with both showing that they have the potential to be genuine starters at the NHL level sometime in the future.
Now, when asked about it, it's clear that Jarry is feeling the heat, and while he may not be with the Penguins after this summer, if he is, he's clearly focused on not losing his job to one of the young names.
"I can't let someone steal my job."
If he can rekindle his late season form next year (if he remains in Pittsburgh), there's a chance that we could see one of the other two soon slot in as his backup, but the second he continues to struggle again, both Blomqvist and Murashov are banging down the door.
There are many questions to be answered in Pittsburgh this summer, and the goaltending is perhaps the most important to the immediate and long-term success of the organization, so while Jarry may potentially remain, his seat will be incredibly hot for the near future.
