Now, the former fourth-overall pick will need to get back to work as the Panthers attempt to repeat as champions. Recently, Bennett was interviewed by the First Up show on TSN 1050 in Toronto. Of course, Bennett is from the area, so his recent triumph is of interest to Leafs fans.
What is certainly in the interest of Maple Leafs fans is the fact that Bennett isn't ruling out the possibility of ever playing for the Leafs. He noted that some Leafs fans will stop him on the street to give him grief. It is a loving grief as the fans are just simply salty that he plays for other teams. As he explains, fans always end off their rants by wondering if he will ever come to play for the Leafs. His answer, however, should give some fans in Toronto hope.
Not exactly a committal answer, but he is definitely not ruling it out. Throughout his career, Bennett has 285 points which includes 137 goals. He has played in 615 games, and as we mentioned earlier, has a Stanley Cup to his name. Simply put, he would be a solid addition to any team, including the Toronto Maple Leafs.
