Several Maple Leafs Players Likely to be Bought Out Per Elliotte Friedman: Kyle Dubas Must Act

This past season was meant to be a different finish for a star studded Toronto Maple Leafs team, but unfortunately that didn't happen, as they were once again bounced in heartbreaking circumstances against one of their biggest division rivals.

As a result, the team have parted ways with Brendan Shanahan, but have kept Brad Treliving in the GM role, and early in the off-season, he promised big change for this team in the summer.

Now, we know what some of those changes may be, as a recent report from top NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman has revealed that the team are considering buy outs for several players lower down the order in their lineup to create salary cap space to improve the overall roster.

It's unclear exactly who they would be targeting, but the likes of Pontus Holmberg, David Kampf and Calle Jarnkrok are certainly possibilities, with the team looking to change more than just their makeup of stars.

There's plenty of things that Brad Treliving and the Maple Leafs could do this off-season, but now we are simply waiting to see what they will end up doing, and with Mitch Marner likely on the way out, there's at least one huge change coming, so this off-season will likely be one of the biggest chances for change this team has seen in a long, long time.
