Gary Bettman removes player from NHL's blacklist and reinstates him
Today, the Montreal Canadiens received some very good news on the future of one of the NHL's most controversial prospects. After selecting Logan Mailloux with the 31st pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, the Montreal Canadiens faced much backlash.
Mailloux renounce himself from the draft before being selected, claiming he hadn't earned the right to be drafted. The Canadiens elected to draft him anyways, claiming he deserved a second chance.
Mailloux, 20, was immediately announced ineligible for the NHL by commissioner Gary Bettman. Mailloux has remained ineligible up until today. After meeting with Bettman the league finally announced Mailloux was cleared to play.
After reviewing Mailoux's case, the NHL has given him the green light to allow Mailoux to play for the Montreal Canadiens franchise.
Hearing from multiple sources that Logan Mailloux received the green light from the NHL to play for the @CanadiensMTL when his time will come. So this is the end of all speculations regarding his future
It will be interesting to see if Mailloux can make the Canadiens out of camp or if he'll spend next year gaining experience in the AHL with the Laval Rocket.
