Former Pittsburgh Penguins forward Colby Armstrong has sent a bold statement to the NHL and Commissioner Gary Bettman about their scheduling controversy.

The Stanley Cup Final is officially set, and it's a rematch between the defending champion Florida Panthers and the Edmonton Oilers, who battled it out in 7 games last year.
However, the opening game of the Cup Final isn't scheduled until Wednesday, nearly a week from when the Oilers last played.
That's not sitting well with everyone, the least of which former NHL forward and current analyst Colby Armstrong, who wasn't shy about giving a piece of his mind on the subject.
Can we get this done Gary, and the NHL, and the GM's? Can we start f---ing camp earlier, start the season earlier? Like, can we crank through this so that when June 1 hits, we're done? You know, we're teeing up for the Draft?

I love hockey, don't get me wrong. This weekend sucks that we don't even have hockey right now - but just the season in general like dragging on. Let's just get this done. Let's get this going, come on, come on.

This is dragging way too long. And even for the players, camp will be around the corner and bingo bango, we're on the way. So, we got to think that through as well.
The NHL has garnered criticism in the past for their season seemingly going too far into the month of June, and Armstrong's words could potentially spur consideration for schedule condensing to solve this issue.
