Gleb Kuzmin of Salavat Yulaev in the KHL suffered a horrific injury while playing against Avangard Omsk earlier this week.
Now, it is being revealed that Kuzmin suffered a compression fracture to his spine. He is currently in the ICU, and he may have to be transported to another hospital for surgery.
This is a very serious injury and there are concerns about whether or not he will ever play hockey again. Although we're sure that is the last thing on his mind right now. Any kind of injury to the spine is serious and operating in that area can be fragile. It was an accidental hit, but the result just shows what a dangerous game hockey can be sometimes.
Do you believe the player who hit Kuzmin should be suspended? Let us know in the poll down below and stay tuned to Hockey Unplugged for the latest news and updates from around the hockey world.
