NHL insider Pierre LeBrun recently reported that there were a handful of NHL teams who have checked in with Marc-Andre Fleury on playing one last year despite having retired at the end of last season.

Longtime NHL goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury officially called it a career at the end of last season, hanging up the pads with the second most wins in NHL history behind his boyhood idol, Martin Brodeur.
But what are the chances that a team could try and coax him into playing one more year?
Per analyst Pierre LeBrun, he's heard that a handful of unnamed NHL teams have checked in with Fleury to see if he'd be interested in playing one final year.
Probably not surprising but hearing that some teams have checked in on Marc-Andre Fleury to see if there's any chance at all he would consider playing again. Again not surprised teams with goalie needs would want to check on it. -Pierre LeBrun
The Edmonton Oilers recently lost goaltender Tristan Jarry, who they just acquired from Fleury's former team, the Pittsburgh Penguins, for several weeks. Additionally, the Toronto Maple Leafs have previously been linked to Fleury and lost goaltender Anthony Stolarz for an indefinite period of time.

Marc-Andre Fleury Played One Final Preseason Game With The Penguins This Fall

News broke before the season that Fleury had re-joined the Penguins, with whom he won three Stanley Cups, but the excitement of Penguins fans was curbed when it was announced that he was only going to play in one preseason game.
The late September game at PPG Paints Arena against the divisional foe Columbus Blue Jackets was a rare preseason sellout, which Fleury described as as "surreal".
It was a little surreal, a little crazy, but also comfortable. When I played here with other teams, I always felt a little weird, but this felt normal ... like it used to. - Marc-Andre Fleury

Fleury's 575 wins are second all-time in the NHL behind only Martin Brodeur.
