Edmonton Oilers Urged by Insider to Acquire Longtime Penguin

The Edmonton Oilers, who are no strangers to goaltending struggles in recent years, are being urged to sign future Hall of Famer Marc-Andre Fleury and convince him to put off retirement for 1 last year in the NHL.
The Edmonton Oilers are still dealing with the hurt of losing in the SCF for the 2nd year in a row to the Florida Panthers.
And once again, the question of the state of Edmonton's goaltending was a theme throughout the postseason. They used both Calvin Pickard and Stuart Skinner at various points in their run; both goalies at times looked unbeatable, and at more inopportune times, looked completely vulnerable, especially in the SCF.
Oilers GM Stan Bowman is being urged not to run it back with Skinner and Pickard, especially if he's to convince superstar Connor McDavid to sign a long-term extension.
Per Allan Mitchell of The Athletic, Bowman should try and convince future Hall of Fame goalie Marc-Andre Fleury to put off his planned retirement from the NHL and join Edmonton for 1 last year.
Among goaltenders, Marc-Andre Fleury is the most attractive name.....No matter the current situation, Oilers management should revisit the idea closer to training camp.
For the Oilers, a Fleury signing would check a lot of boxes. Starter Stuart Skinner would instantly have a goalie partner with pristine bona fides, a hockey lifetime of experience to draw on, and a clear exit path to retirement. The conflict in such an arrangement would be minimal. Skinner would start a large number of games (the Oilers will make the playoffs even if Skinner returns with partner Calvin Pickard), with postseason appearances awarded on merit.
