Longtime Sidney Crosby teammate, Jake Guentzel, recently commented on Sid the Kid's stardom, where he said he's in the spotlight at all times and everyone wants him.

Sidney Crosby is one of the biggest stars in the game, and his name is ingrained in Pittsburgh.
His now-former Penguins teammate, Jake Guentzel, recently spoke about him on The Cam & Strick Podcast, saying Sidney Crosby can't go anywhere in the city without being recognized by people and is always getting stopped.
"I mean he has to," Guentzel said. "It's got to be tough for him. I mean, everyone wants to be all over him, it seems like. He keeps a pretty low-key profile in Pittsburgh and even on the road, too."
Jake Guentzel, Crosby's eight-year teammate from 2016 to early 2024, described him as a respectful and friendly person to fans, never shying away from posing for a picture or signing an autograph.
"Whenever you come up to him, he's so friendly," Guentzel added. "He's such a nice guy; that's the good thing about him. He'll do everything for everyone."

20 NHL seasons, three Stanley Cups, and countless awards later, Crosby remains one of the league's most recognizable faces.

Crosby is Part of the Exclusive 600-Goal, 1,600-Point Club

He's still putting up elite numbers, hitting 90 points for the third straight season, despite Pittsburgh once again missing the playoffs. He's now hit the 600-goal, 1,600-point mark in his career.
On the international stage, Crosby has been just as dominant, as he scored the golden goal at the 2010 Olympics, captured a second gold in 2014, was the MVP of the 2016 World Cup of Hockey, and guided Canada to gold once more last winter at the "4 Nations Faceoff."
Podcast host Andy Strickland credited Crosby's tireless work ethic, noting that he just surpassed Wayne Gretzky's record by sustaining a point-per-game pace for 20 years.
Guentzel concurred, noting that Crosby will occasionally practice one-on-one with a single coach and that he also skates with fellow Nova Scotian and Colorado Avalanche superstar Nathan MacKinnon during the offseason.
Despite their careers taking them on different paths, Guentzel's words illustrate the lasting respect Crosby still commands both on and off the ice with players, coaches, and fans alike.
