Pittsburgh Penguins general manager Kyle Dubas has already made a major change in leadership behind the bench, and the latest coaching staff update has been announced.

Penguins general manager Kyle Dubas has already made considerable changes behind the Pittsburgh bench.
After a 3rd straight year without a postseason appearance, Dubas decided that Mike Sullivan would no longer be the head coach; he had spent nearly 10 years on the job and helped them win back to back Stanley Cups.
He's hired former New York Rangers assistant coach Dan Muse in his place, while former Hershey Bears head coach Todd Nelson, along with former Penguins Stanley Cup winner Nick Bonino, have joined his staff.
Dubas has also confirmed that the Penguins are looking to hire another assistant coach who would be tasked with overseeing both the team defense and the penalty killing.
Additionally, the Penguins announced Rich Clune had joined Muse's staff along with Sheldon Brookbank, who was an assistant with the AHL affiliate Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
Earlier in the month, Dubas explained that he felt Muse was the best choice not only to succeed Sullivan but to help Pittsburgh's younger players grow and eventually return to postseason contention.
Dan Muse stood out as the best choice. What separated Dan was his ability to develop players, win at all levels where he has been a head coach and his consistent success coaching special teams in the NHL. From his success in developing college and junior players, to his impactful work with veteran players during his time in the NHL, Dan has shown a proven ability to connect with players at all stages of their careers and help them to reach their potential.

The Penguins will have their Development Camp this week in the wake of the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.
