NHL Analyst Jeff Marek Ties One Specific Canadian Team to Tristan Jarry

Tristan Jarry appeared to once again be the main goaltender in the crease for the Pittsburgh Penguins after the trade of Alex Nedeljkovic to the San Jose Sharks.

But the Penguins acquired Arturs Silovs from the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday, adding to an already heated competition in the Pittsburgh crease that includes prospects Joel Blomqvist and Sergei Murashov.

Meanwhile, the Edmonton Oilers are still dealing with the pain of having lost in the Stanley Cup Final for the 2nd year in a row to the Florida Panthers. During their postseason run, they once again had to use both Stuart Skinner and Calvin Pickard, neither one of which was able to firmly grasp the starting role.

Per NHL analyst Jeff Marek, the Oilers could potentially have interest in acquiring Jarry, though it would likely take salary retention on the part of the Penguins.

The Oilers need to do everything possible to make sure that superstar captain Connor McDavid wants to stick around, as his current deal is up next summer and he could become arguably the most sought-after UFA in NHL history if he can't soon come to an agreement in Edmonton.

If the Oilers do not strengthen their goaltending, it would make it that much easier for McDavid to try and seek greener pastures.
