While trying to break up a fight between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens, linesman Ryan Jackson fell to the ice awkwardly and was hurt, having to leave the game with the assistance of the other on-ice officials.
There was an injury during tonight's game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Montreal Canadiens at PPG Paints Arena, but it wasn't a player on either side.
Linesman Ryan Jackson was hurt after trying to break up a scrum that broke out in front of the net, and fell to the ice awkwardly between Pittsburgh's Jack St. Ivany and Montreal's Brendan Gallagher.

Earlier in the game during the first period, Penguins icon Sidney Crosby, taken with the first overall pick in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, made yet another mark on NHL history.
He passed fellow Penguins icon Mario Lemieux with his 1,724th career point, becoming the highest scorer in Pittsburgh franchise history.
Crosby and the Penguins hope to break out of a frustrating eight game losing streak if they can beat the Habs.
