The Columbus Blue Jackets have announced that captain Boone Jenner has been placed on Injured Reserve with the latest injury he's suffered in his career.
The Columbus Blue Jackets, one of the
divisional foes of the Pittsburgh Penguins, just can't seem to stay healthy these days, as they have announced their latest health complication.
Captain Boone Jenner has been placed on Injured Reserve by the Blue Jackets retroactive to November 11 because of an upper body injury.
Blue Jackets head coach Dean Evason delivered the unfortunate news that the injury wasn't expected to be a short term one.
So far this year, Jenner has 10 points (3G, 7A) in 16 games for the Blue Jackets, who have a decent record at 9-7-1 but are in second to last place in the Metropolitan Division.
Jenner was hurt at some point during the Blue Jacket's 2-1 OT win over the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday and hasn't been able to play since then.
Boone Jenner Has Had Multiple Injuries During His NHL Career
Jenner, taken with the 37th overall pick by the Blue Jackets in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, has missed multiple games throughout his career because of injuries.
Because of injuries, he's been limited to just 59, 68, 58, and 26 games over the last four respective seasons. The injury he sustained last year was in practice, and had a major effect on the Blue Jackets' year as they would miss the playoffs yet again. They haven't made the postseason since 2020.
He has 393 points (202G, 191A) in 757 career games, all in a Blue Jackets sweater.
