The Pittsburgh Penguins have created a heartwarming memory for a young fan named Myer Gallant, who is experiencing a health battle.

Through the years, the Pittsburgh Penguins have become known for their active work in the community, which has included the tradition of the players hand-delivering tickets to the team's season ticket holders.
The Penguins paid it forward in a big way recently by making the wish of 10 year old Myer Gallant to be a Penguin for a day come true, welcoming him to their practice rink.
Myer suffers from spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), a genetic disease, but his spirits were lifted by the efforts of the Penguins.
Myer's day, which also included an official one-day contract signing with GM Kyle Dubas, helped to put things in perspective for the professional athletes.
I think it just shows the impact that the Penguins, but all of sports, can make on young people and on a community, and on their families. To be able to give back to people who make that level of investment in the Penguins is something that I think we're always thrilled to do. - Kyle Dubas

I think it's inspiring. I think it puts things in perspective. The fact that he wants to spend time here and experience the day with us, I think means a lot to us. We hope that it's something that he really enjoys and has great memories of. - Sidney Crosby

Myer Gallant Signed A One Day Contract With The Penguins

Myer is a devoted Penguins fans who always watches their games on TV, and his parents Randy and Jaclyn Gallant were thrilled with the gesture by the organization.
It's not about us at all, it's about Myer. It's been great. They go through so much medically. There's been a lot that he's gone through, and more to come that he isn't aware of yet. So, to have joy like this, where he can just experience all the good things is just pretty amazing. - Jaclyn Gallant

It's great to see a pro sports organization like the Penguins go the extra mile for the most vulnerable in the community, especially for sick kids.
