Pittsburgh Penguins prospect Harrison Brunicke talked about the scary facial injury that he suffered while playing at the World Junior Championships.

One of the top prospects within the Pittsburgh Penguins organization is defenseman Harrison Brunicke, who is now playing with Canada for the World Junior Championships.
But he got a rough introduction to play when he was clipped by a stick, resulting in his two front teeth being chipped.
Brunicke, who is wearing the A on his sweater as an assistant captain, said that he debated pulling them out before deciding just to have them fixed instead because it's what his mom would want, per analyst Mark Masters.
I was debating just getting them pulled out because I imagine, like, one day it's going to happen again but my mom wanted them fixed. - Harrison Brunicke
Brunicke, who was taken by the Penguins with the 44th overall pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, scored a goal in the nine games he played in the NHL so far this year before being returned to the American Hockey League affiliate Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins as so not to burn a year of his entry level contract.

Harrison Brunicke Loved His Experience At Canada's Camp

It was a whirlwind experience for the Penguins defensive prospect, especially learning from so many legends of the game like his Pittsburgh teammate Sidney Crosby.
It's unbelievable. We could sit here and tell you all about it. Sid is such a great guy. So special getting to learn from those guys, nitpick their games and grow as a player.»

When you're in more high-pressure situations, you get more comfortable with it. I'm hoping to bring that here.

I'm still trying to build that pro style of game, where it's strictly hard defense, where you're moving the puck and moving your feet, less risks. That's what I'm trying to bring here. - Harrison Brunicke

Brunicke and Canada will now take on Czechia tonight in the semifinals for the opportunity to win a World Juniors Gold Medal.
