Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has passed NHL Hall of Fame forward Marcel Dionne and is close to chasing down another all-time scoring record.

Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby continues to defy age, even at 38, and is doing all he can to try and drag his team to the playoffs for what would be the first time since 2022.
Right now, the Penguins are in the midst of a three-year playoff drought, the longest in the career of Crosby and his longtime teammates Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang.
Even though it was a very rough month of December for the Penguins, they have now won four straight games and it's thanks in large part to Crosby.
In yesterday's 4-1 win over the Red Wings, Crosby had two assists and has passed Marcell Dionne in NHL history for the most multi-point games with 257.
He's only five multi-point games away from tying Adam Oates, and nine away from passing former Penguins forward Jaromir Jagr (266).
So far this year, Crosby has 45 points (23G, 22A) in 40 games and is showing that he's still one of the best players in the NHL.

Sidney Crosby Is Signed Through The End Of Next Year

Because of the Penguins' struggles in recent years, there have been rampant rumours that Crosby could look to leave Pittsburgh so that he could try and win another Stanley Cup before he eventually retires.
Crosby signed a two year extension last year with his annual AAV (average annual value) of $8.7 million, a superstitious nod to his sweater number, keeping him in Pittsburgh through 2027.
If the Penguins begin to stumble again and fall out of the playoff race, those rumours will only grow louder.
