Sidney Crosby, who continues to prove that age is just a number, has passed Wayne Gretzky for a historic NHL milestone in tonight's win over the New Jersey Devils in Pittsburgh.

The Pittsburgh Penguins continue to roll with their sixth straight win, this time a 4-1 win over the struggling New Jersey Devils on home ice at PPG Paints Arena.
But during the game, captain Sidney Crosby continued to prove that age is just a number by getting a pair of assists. In doing so, he moved past Wayne Gretzky for the second most assists while wearing a single team's sweater.
1,087 assists - all with Pittsburgh.

With two helpers tonight, Sidney Crosby has surpassed Wayne Gretzky (1,086 with EDM) for the second-most assists with one team in NHL history, trailing only Ray Bourque (1,111 with BOS). - Pittsburgh Penguins

Sidney Crosby Continues To Prove That Age Is Just A Number

Crosby, who was taken by the Pittsburgh Penguins with the first overall pick in the famous 2005 NHL Entry Draft, has played his entire NHL career in a Penguins sweater and become one of the greatest players in NHL history.
Not only has Crosby led the Penguins to three Stanley Cups, but he's also set multiple team records and easily assured himself of a first ballot Hall of Fame spot whenever his career comes to an end.
Right now, he's signed through the end of next year with his traditional AAV (average annual value) of $8.7 million, a superstitious nod to his longtime sweater number.
There have been rampant rumours that Crosby could seek a trade out of Pittsburgh if they fall out of the playoff race at some point this year, but he's stated repeatedly that he wants to continue and finish his career where it started, in Pittsburgh.
So far this year, Crosby has 47 points (24G, 23A) in 41 games.
