It may have been an early struggle, but new Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Stuart Skinner is on an elite run since Christmas, proving the Penguins came out on top in their major trade with the Edmonton Oilers.

The major trade between the Edmonton Oilers and Pittsburgh Penguins nearly a month ago has yielded interesting results for both teams, but right now it's looking more and more like it was the Penguins who came out on top.
The Penguins acquired Stuart Skinner and Brett Kulak from the Oilers for Tristan Jarry and Sam Poulin, and even though it was a struggle at first for Skinner in his new surroundings, he's been on quite the run since Christmas.
Since the break, he's the top goalie in the NHL in terms of GAA and SV%:

Skinner has won his last three straight games, during which he's allowed only a goal in each.

The Oilers Have Had Varied Results With Tristan Jarry

On the other hand, the Oilers acquired Jarry from the Penguins, believing that he could be the solution to their long-standing goaltending issue.
But Jarry, who had experienced his own struggles with the Penguins and was even waived by the team around this time last year, was hurt in just his third start in an Oilers sweater and has been unavailable ever since.
The Oilers made a major gamble by acquiring Jarry, and even though it could end up working out for them in the long run, the short-term results have so far belonged to the Penguins and Skinner.
