Toronto Maple Leafs starting goalie Ilya Samsonov had to exit the game against the Edmonton Oilers due to a concerning injury. The incident occurred with the Leafs leading 5-2, shortly after the Oilers narrowed the gap to 5-3 and with just over three minutes remaining on the clock.

Samsonov seemed to sustain a lower-body injury in an effort to make a save, prompting his departure from the ice.

Martin Jones stepped in for Samsonov for the final stretch of the game. The Leafs are already dealing with injuries to key players like Mitch Marner and Ilya Lyubushkin, as noted by TSN's Chris Johnston, making Samsonov's condition a significant concern.
However, post-game, Leafs coach Sheldon Keefe provided a reassuring update, suggesting the situation might not be as dire as initially feared.
