Winnipeg Jets Forward Signs with New Team Following Playoff Exit
Axel Jonsson-Fjallby has played in just 99 NHL games over his career, but in that time, he served as fantastic depth for the Winnipeg Jets, giving them a great depth option down in their lineup.
However, the 27-year old hasn't played in the NHL since 2023/24, a season in which he tallied 2 goals and 5 points over 26 games played, posting a solid +6 differential in that time, with some believing he could be a bottom-six fixture in this team for years to come.
With a career 10 goals and 23 points in 99 games played, Jonsson-Fjallby never quite got the chance to show what he was made of in the NHL, but at 27-years of age, he's taking a chance in returning to Sweden, as the production there could potentially help him find his way back to the league one day.
Standing at 6-foot-1, Jonsson-Fjallby certainly has the size to compete at the next level, and with 57 points in the last two seasons in the AHL, he's got the chance to be a solid contributor, so now, we will wait and see if he can star in Sweden and potentially get back to the NHL in the years to come.
