Carey Price reveals that his playing career may not be over just yet

Price still has 3 years remaining on his current contract, which I'm sure that the Habs would love to move, knowing that Price's career is very likely over. GM Kent Hughes told The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun this week that as unlikely as it is, the Habs would still consider moving the final 3 years of Price's deal if they can, pointing out that it's "a possibility", however unlikely.

The toughest part about moving the deal is Price's $10.5M cap hit. With most or all of his salary covered by insurance, teams wouldn't necessarily have to worry about the cap hit, unless of course Price returned to action. Earlier today, Carey Price himself was asked about what his hockey future looked like and if his playing days were over. Surprisingly, he couldn't guarantee that his career is officially over.

Price didn't paint a promising picture about his playing days, but he isn't helping the Habs move his contract by suggesting that there's a chance that he could return either. After all, what NHL team is going to want to get stuck paying Price $10.5M for a season or two at the tail end of his career after missing so much time?
