Boston Bruins sniper David Pastrnak has broken his silence about having to face ex-teammate Brad Marchand, who was traded to the divisional foe Florida Panthers at the Trade Deadline in March.

Not only did the Boston Bruins deal captain Brad Marchand to the divisional foe Florida Panthers after failing to come to an agreement on a new contract extension, but also had to watch him help the Panthers win their 2nd straight Stanley Cup.
Marchand then dashed the hopes of Bruins fans everywhere by not only choosing not to return to Boston, but to sign a 6 year extension with Florida.
Because they play in the same division, the Panthers and Bruins will see plenty of each other, and it also means that Marchand will be able to finally play his 1st game back in Boston as a member of the opposition.
It will be a strange feeling for David Pastrnak, who was Marchand's longtime teammate with the Bruins and talked about what their 1st game against each other may be like.
We played a big part of our careers together and our wives are also great friends. The bond is there, so of course it was difficult to see him leave. I'm not happy about the Stanley Cup for Florida, but I am happy for Marchand. Then when he signed a big contract, I kind of let him know that I would make the first game against us a little difficult for him. I am looking forward to it. We always had tough battles together, even in practice.

They won't have to wait long, as Marchand and the Panthers are scheduled to face the Bruins in Boston on October 21.

A New Era Begins for Two Bruins Legends on Opposite Sides

It will be a strange feeling for those who cheered Marchand for so many years in a Bruins sweater to watch him play against Boston.
But as has been traditionally the case for returning players to their former homes, there will likely be a special video tribute for Marchand and a chance for the fans to give him a deserved standing ovation for his years of service in a Bruins sweater.
