John Hayden has been in the NHL for a long time, but now he's faced perhaps his toughest challenge yet, coming face-to-face with a wild bear in Alaska.
The NHL off-season is often quiet for many players around the league, and sometimes it involves plenty of media with their team, and now, the Seattle Kraken have taken it to another level entirely as they sent their mascot to Alaska with a player to do some fun media.
In a
recently released video, the Kraken Mascot Buoy was seen in Alaska filming some content with John Hayden when they came face-to-face with a wild bear in a shocking scene.
Obviously, both the mascot and the player got away unscathed in what turned out to be an amazing encounter for them, but given how quickly this one could have gotten out of hand, it's safe to say that the Kraken organization and both involved are thankful that things didn't go sideways.
While it turned out to be a great piece of media with Hayden who is clearly very comfortable in the outdoors, the Kraken likely aren't going to do this one again, even if all of the coverage around Buoy and the event have garnered them plenty of attention from fans and the media.
Ultimately, it looked like a very fun moment for both, as not many people in today's world will come face-to-face with a wild bear, especially not one doing media with a hockey mascot, and now that everyone escaped without being hurt, it's safe to say that it's a great memory that everyone involved will potentially look back on fondly.
