Overall, their injury problems have been a sore spot for the Vancouver Canucks for months. This is especially true for Demko, who is supposed to be the team's franchise goalie. He was injured during the playoffs, and one could argue that it contributed to the team being robbed of its Stanley Cup hopes.
Now, Jim Rutherford is speaking out about his goalies. Unfortunately, the update he gave isn't super encouraging. Instead, he isn't too sure where his goaltenders stand right now. While he believes they are working hard towards a return, he can't say for sure whether or not that return will take place ahead of the regular season.
The Vancouver Canucks made it to Game 7 against the Edmonton Oilers last season, in the second-round of the playoffs. If they can get that far again, it will certainly be a success, although we're sure they will want more. In order to get more, they will need Demko and Silovs to be healthy.
