BREAKING: NHL Legend Officially Returns To Play With His Former Team
In an unexpected turn of events, Roberto Luongo found himself back on the ice with one of his former NHL teams today.
Today, the Florida Panthers faced an unusual situation as goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky was unable to participate in practice. With no time for a call-up, the Panthers made a spur-of-the-moment decision, and Roberto Luongo stepped in to suit up for practice.
Given Luongo's involvement with the front office in Florida, he was probably among the limited options they had for a fill-in goalie. While it's a treat to see Luongo back on the ice, it's worth noting that he would likely only be called into action as an Emergency Backup Goalie (EBUG). Even then, there's probably another designated EBUG besides Luongo.
