Carson Soucy faces suspension for brutal cross check on Connor McDaivd
During game 3 the Vancouver Canucks and Edmonton Oilers faced off in a crucial matchup.
The two teams played right up until the final whistle, with the Canucks securing a 4-3 victory to take a 2-1 series lead. Nonetheless, it's what happened after the last whistle that could possibly have a major impact on the remainder of the series.
As the final whistle went off
Connor McDavid approaches
Carson Soucy and hits him with a hard two hand slash to the leg. Soucy known for not backing down immediately engaged. That's not all, the bad news continues for McDavid, as veteran defender
Nikita Zadorov also saw the slash.
Zadorov rushes over to the mix to defend Soucy and delivers a cross check to the back of McDavid and as McDavid falls, Soucy delivers a shot of his own. Unfortunately the cross check hits McDavid straight in the face, but it definitely seems like Soucy wasn't aiming for his face.

On the play the referee only gave Soucy a two minute penalty for cross checking. It will be interesting to see if the NHL Department of Player Safety will issue any further disciplinary actions for this incident.
