Anthony Stolarz has been out since Game 1 of the Maple Leafs series against Florida, and now he's set to officially miss a crucial Game 7 on Sunday night.
The Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Florida Panthers Stanley Cup Playoffs series has been absolutely brutal thus far, and things got started in Game 1 with Anthony Stolarz exiting the game due to a potential concussion.
He's not returned to full practice since that point, and while there's been signs that his health could be improving, the latest update on him certainly isn't a positive one for the Maple Leafs, as he will indeed miss the biggest game that Toronto have played in quite some time.
According to reports, he did not take the ice with the team on Sunday morning, with the revelation that he will miss the key Game 7 between Toronto and Florida, with the team again turning to Joseph Woll and Matt Murray as the backup.
That may not be the worst outcome for Toronto however, as Woll posted an impressive shutout on the road in Game 6 to force this winner-take-all Game 7 on Sunday night, but if the Maple Leafs are to win the Stanley Cup, it will be on the back of Stolarz in net.
In 7 games, Stolarz posted a dominant 2.19 GAA and a .901 save percentage, but now the team will look to Woll to get them to the Eastern Conference Finals, and if they can make it that far, the hope is that they can get Stolarz back on the ice close to 100%, but for now, there's major worries that he may not play again in these Stanley Cup Playoffs.
