William Nylander to the Anaheim Ducks? NHL insider shares reported trade offer

When it comes to trade rumors the Toronto Maple Leafs are usually the center of the rumor mill due to fact that they're one of top drawing teams in the league. Because of their popularity, sometimes, NHL insiders will share completely outlandish content about them, just as the Hockey 24/7 account on Twitter did last week.

According to the account Hockey 24/7, who in the past has broken some news, the Leafs are rumoured to have received an offer for forward William Nylander. In the deal the Leafs would send Nylander to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for John Gibson with salary retention, and Trevor Zegras signed to an extension.

This trade rumour makes absolutely no sense from the perspective of the Ducks.

For the Ducks, they would be trading one of the young and marketable faces of their franchise, along with their only competent goaltender, for one year of William Nylander on a team not competing for the playoffs.

This is a wild trade proposal in the fact that every asset included would make little to no sense for either team. But how else would hockey accounts farm for interactions on Twitter if they're not posting intentionally obtuse content?
